IF: Similar

These Chanel handbags may look similar, but one retails at $1,150.00 and the other was found in Chinatown, New York and was haggled at $30.00. Can you tell the difference? I chose this specific Chanel bag, because I know I've seen the knockoff dozens of times.

Check out this article from the NY Times to read more about the epidemic of knockoff designer handbags. Crazy stuff!

oh...I SO wish I could have a real chanel....I ...alas...have a knockoff...but its way more subtle. ha ha
I could never get myself to spend over 300 on a bag...however...I did work at coach for awhile...which allowed some nice aquisitions.
mmmm bags....

Yeah, that's why I don't understand getting designer stuff. I mean, why would I need a bag that costs more than my rent?

Yeah, at $30 the price is right!... although they both look like a million. ;)

This is great. Just coming back from NYC two months ago, my sister and I did the whole counterfit "designa" handbag run in Chinatown. They have it down now where you jump into a parked van and they show you all their goods. Most of it was crap though. Really, really bad knock offs. It was such a let down and turn off. Too bad for Chinatown.
Love your idea for this post!!

Very creative. Now go save all the little slaves in NY and don't buy any more knockoffs.
